A silent disco party can come in many shapes and sizes. You can hire a club venue, boogie in your back garden, stay up all night at a festival or even have a silent disco party on your wedding day. It’s one of the best ways to entertain a large group of guests and gives you the flexibility of playing a variety of music through the different channels. You’re also not tied down to a specific location because you can host a silent disco party anywhere.
A relatively new way to use silent disco equipment is to host a yoga class. Yes, that’s right, silent disco yoga is a thing, and guess what? It’s fantastic. It’s been highlighted as one of the hottest yoga trends over the past few years and is becoming more popular as new venues pop up.
This article is going to run you through exactly what silent disco yoga is, the equipment needed to run a class, and the benefits you can get if you attend a session.
What is silent disco yoga?
It involves practising yoga while listening to music through wireless headphones. Depending on the type of class, the music could be relaxing meditation music or more upbeat to energise you as you feel the burn in some of the tougher stretches. The yoga teacher’s voice also plays through the headphones which can be heard easily over the music. The equipment can be used anywhere which means silent disco yoga classes can be hosted in stunning locations both indoors and outdoors.
What happens during a silent disco yoga class?
It’s a lot like a normal yoga class, there is still an instructor that will be talking you through each pose for the duration of the session. However, what makes a silent disco yoga class special is that there will be a DJ who has worked with the instructor to choreograph a session to particular music. This format works best for faster flow yoga classes but can also work for slower forms of yoga, like Yin yoga. Sometimes the hosts bring the disco vibes and will be handing out face paint and glitter so that everyone can get into the festival spirit.

Where can you find silent disco yoga classes in the UK?
Silent disco yoga is still quite a niche event, so your options are fairly limited in the UK. However, nothing is stopping you from hosting your own silent disco yoga class. We’ll tell you exactly how you can do that a bit later on.
Silent disco yoga Cornwall
The biggest silent disco event in the UK takes place on Fistral Beach in Newquay, Cornwall. It’s a stunning location and the events are often held in the late evenings so that you can enjoy the sunset while you stretch.

The same company that hosts the events in Cornwall, also host them in London too. They’re held outside of the Pavilion Café in Victoria Park which is another beautiful location that will have you feeling extra Zen to help you shake off some of the stress of the city.
How to host a silent disco fitness class – what equipment do you need?
Not everybody can make it to Cornwall and London though. So, what can you do if you live elsewhere? Well, you can host your own silent disco yoga or fitness class by hiring our equipment.
What makes these types of yoga classes possible (and other silent disco fitness classes like Zumba or HITT sessions) is a battery-operated clip-on belt transmitter. This allows the party host to move around freely and there’s no need for a stage to place all of the equipment.
We have plenty of battery transmitters in stock and can include them within your silent disco hire package. The setup is a little bit different than a regular mains powered silent disco transmitters, but we will be happy to talk you through it.
Rent our equipment and you can create your own silent disco yoga event anywhere in the UK!
Five benefits of silent disco yoga
I’m sure lots of you have already gone off to search for your nearest silent yoga event but just in case you need some more convincing about how great it is, we’re going to finish up with five benefits…
1. The music & headphones create an intimate and immersive yoga experience
The headphones and music will block out background noises helping you to concentrate on your inner self. You’ll also be able to hear the instructor’s voice directly in your ears. So, even if you’re at the back of the room or at an outdoor event, it will feel like a one-on-one session.
2. Creates fantastic memories
Silent disco yoga is such a unique experience it won’t be one that you will forget in a hurry. It’s different and might push you out of your comfort zone but you’ll be telling friends and family about it for weeks afterwards.
3. It combines exercise and fun!
For lots of us, the words ‘exercise’ and ‘fun’ are rarely used in the same sentence. However, the combination of music and exercise during a silent disco yoga session will have you feeling elated, refreshed and fitter!
4. You can stretch anywhere and everywhere
Certain licensing means that some locations are off-limits to events with amplified noise. However, using silent disco equipment gets around this issue and therefore opens up a lot more event spaces.
5. Silent disco meditation
Just like with regular yoga you can benefit from the de-stressing effects that come from stretching and meditation. You’ll be able to take that feeling of ‘zen’ home with you to keep you calmer throughout the week.
