What's the difference between the £22 light and £80 package?
The £22 hire gets you one Pentaflash 5-in-1 light - perfect for a small house party of 5-20 guests. The £80 package gets you three lights (2 Pentaflash + 1 uplighter) plus a smoke machine - significantly more dramatic and noticeable in larger rooms or for parties of 30-70 guests, where a single light starts to feel a bit thin.
Can I just hire lights without anything else?
No - our lighting hire is only available as an add-on to silent disco or karaoke hire. The reason is simple: delivery and return courier costs make standalone light hire too expensive.
Will these lights fill a large venue?
Honestly - no, not on their own. These are compact party lights designed for house parties, garden parties and smaller function rooms (typically up to around 70 guests). For large wedding venues you'd want a professional lighting hire company. We're upfront about this so there are no surprises on the day. How long does it take to set the lights up?
Under 5 minutes total. Each light has a standard UK plug, place it on a flat surface, switch it on and the auto mode will take over. The smoke machine takes a couple of minutes to warm up. We include a simple printed setup guide in the box and our 24/7 helpline is always one call away if you get stuck.
Do I need DMX or controllers to use these lights?
No - all our lights run on automatic pre-programmed modes, so they react to your music without any setup. The smoke machine comes with a hand-held remote so you can puff smoke on demand.
How big are the lights and do they come with stands?
The lights are compact and designed to fit in our tote boxes - they don't come with stands. Typical setup is on a sturdy table, shelf, side board or even the floor pointing up. They're not designed to be rigged from a ceiling or mounted on a truss.
Will the smoke machine set off fire alarms?
It can do so - it really depends on the type of fire detector, the distance away and the size of the room. Always check with your venue first if you're hiring a function room or hall. In domestic settings (houses, gardens, marquees) it's usually fine but a steam-style detector is more forgiving than an optical one.
Are the lights safe for children's parties?
Yes - the LED lights are low voltage and run cool, so they're suitable for children's parties when placed sensibly out of reach. The lasers are class-compliant low-power party lasers but, like any laser, shouldn't be pointed directly into anyone's eyes. The smoke machine is perfectly safe and uses water-based fluid.
Can I add lights to a booking I've already made?
Yes, absolutely - just give us a shout by email or phone and we'll add lights to your existing order. As long as you let us know before we dispatch your order, we can pop them in the same box at no extra delivery cost.
How are the lights delivered and collected?
Lights ship along with your silent disco or karaoke hire, arriving 3-4 days before your event with free UK delivery and live tracking. After your event, you pack everything back in the same box and DPD collect on Monday afternoon.
